Judith Plooy - Edmonton Academy of MusicJudith Plooy – Piano

Judith has graduated with a Bachelor of Arts 2007 and Bachelor of Music from the Kings University 2010. Her principal instrument being the piano. She has been teaching for 7 years and has experience teaching students of all ages as well as students with special needs. Judith also has been trained to teach the Music for Young Children Program.

Pam Langy - Edmonton Academy of MusicPam Lang – Piano

Pam has graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Music (in piano performance) in 1977. She has been teaching for over 20 years  The highlight of her teaching has been receiving six silver medals from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

Julie Boettcher - Edmonton Academy of MusicJulie Boettcher – Piano/Voice

Julie has graduated from Grant Mac Ewan University with a degree in Jazz/Pop Studies. She has trained musicians and singers for over 20 years in pop and musical theater. She enjoys arranging music and excels in working with ensembles.

Cindy Koistinen - Edmonton Academy of MusicCindy Koistinen – Voice

Cindy completed her Master Music in Opera Performance at the University of British Columbia where she taught class voice. She has bee teaching privately for over ten years and has taught in Vancouver and Toronto. As the voice of piano/singer ensemble Duo Freya she regularly performs concerts in Scandinavian art song and recorded a CD of this music at the CBC studios in Toronto. She especially enjoys teaching adult and young adult beginners.

Angie Money - Edmonton Academy of MusicAngie Money – Voice

Angie has graduated from the University of Toronto with degree in Vocal Performance 1987 and Vocal Teaching 1990.She has been training and coaching students in voice for over 20 years . She has worked with  many choirs and vocal ensembles. Angie has written and   produced two C.D’s and has performed across western Canada. Angie is also trained in the Music for Young children program.

Cheryl Pikkert - Edmonton Academy of MusicCheryl Pikkert – Violin/piano

Cheryl has a Bachelor of Music Performance, MA in Education and has taught violin and piano for 30 years. She has performed with numerous symphonies and ensembles. She enjoys sharing the gift and love of music with children.

Jorden Rolheiser - Edmonton Academy of MusicJorden Rolheiser – Drums

Jorden has been playing drums since the age of 12. As a graduate of MacEwan University’s music program, he is well versed in many drum styles as well as a variety of percussion instruments. With over 8 years of teaching experience, Jordan is able to pass on his knowledge of all ages and levels.

Allan Rathgeber - Edmonton Academy of MusicAllan Rathgeber – Guitar/Bass

Allan has graduated form the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Music and Language Arts. He has been teaching guitar since 1971 as well as teaching in community colleges. He has recorded 3 albums and has performed in many blues and rock bands. He brings a wealth of knowledge to his students.

John McDonnell - Edmonton Academy of MusicJohn McDonnell – Guitar

John has over 15 years playing experience, and has been teaching for 7 years. He is working towards completing an ARCT degree in guitar, with an emphasis on teaching. He enjoys teaching beginners of all ages, taking them through different styles to help them find where their passion lies. John enjoys arranging music for solo guitar in his spare time. He performs at various weddings and events around Edmonton.

Audrey Shonn - Edmonton Academy of MusicAudrey Shonn – Music For Young Children

Teaching MYC is a second career for Audrey, who returned to teaching music following a 25-year career in communications and advertising. 2011-12 is Audrey's second year of teaching MYC, having taken the program 'on the road' to Provost and Killam, AB last year. Music has always been an important part of her life: teaching private piano lessons while studying Grades IX and X Royal Conservatory, helping her own three children through their learning in piano, horn, guitar, dance and school band programs, and then taking up the French Horn herself 16 years ago. Playing the horn and singing in a choir have become her musical activities of choice, along with giving young people their musical start in life through teaching MYC and Ukulele Kids.

Anita Fong - Edmonton Academy of MusicAnita Fong – Piano

Anita has graduated from the University of Alberta with degrees in Science and Education. She has been playing piano since the age of five and has had opportunity to participate in the Alberta Music Festival on several occasions. She has been teaching piano to young students for four years and has her ARCT in piano performance.
