Music for Young Children
Music Pups (0-3 yr)
Music pups classes provide the opportunity for children to be immersed in the sounds of music including a broad variety of musical scales, rhythms and styles and starting at a very young age. Our classes, music and activities provide a fun way for parents and children to enjoy songs together and the CD’s enable families to take home those songs so that they can enjoy the music and activities throughout the week.
Parents are encouraged to bring two siblings at the same time to enjoy in the fun making it easier on families with small children.. Courses are 10 weeks and have a different theme each session which keeps it fresh and inviting.There is time to dance, sing, play rhythm instruments and have fun!!
Sunrise (21/2-3 yr)
The goal of this program is to provide an introduction to the exciting world of music to very young children.
The curriculum develops listening awareness, fine motor skills, social interaction, confidence and attention span. It involves lots of singing, rhythm, movement and a whole of of fun!! A parent (or alternate adult) stays for the class and is totally involved with the child’s activities.
The Sunrise class is divided into three progressive student manuals each covering a 10 week term.
Classes are 45 minutes long and are taught in Studio 6 group room.
Sunshine (4-5 yr)
MYC provides Sunshine classes for 4 years old and 5 year olds not in kinder-garden. The children learn a foundation of music and focus on learning the keyboard/piano as their main instrument.
They sing, play rhythm instruments, listen to music stories, compose their own songs, play games, play keyboards/pianos and participate in various other activities during the class. A parent (or alternate adult) is always present helping with these activities.
The classes are 1 hour long and take place in Studio 6 group room.
Sunbeams (5-6 yr)
The Sunbeams classes are for 5 year olds in kinder-garden and 6 years old. The children learn the foundation of music and focus on learning the keyboard/piano as their main instrument.
They sing, play rhythm instruments, listen to and create music stories, compose their own songs, play games, play keyboard/pianos, learn about composers and participate in various other activities during the class. A parent(or alternate adult) is always present helping with these activities.
The classes are 1 hour long and take place in Studio 6 group room.
Moonbeams (7, 8, 9 yr)
MYC provides Moonbeams classes for 7,8, and 9 yr. old. The children learn the foundation of music and focus on learning the keyboard/piano as their main instrument.
They sing, play rhythm instruments listen to and create music stories, compose their own songs, play games, play keyboard/piano, learn composers and participate in various other activities during the class. A parent is always present helping with these activities.
The Classes are 1 hour and take place in Studio 6 group room.
